Rotarians sewed masks for a Dutch retirement home together with HALFAR® employees
On the first weekend in May, the sewing machines whirred at the bag makers from Bielefeld. After an inquiry from the Dutch RC Epe reached us last week, some Bielefeld and Eper Rotarians and HALFAR® staff came together at the weekend to help. Together, divided into small working groups that were spatially separated in the production area, a total of 500 mouth and nose masks were completed for the good cause.
Unfortunately, there are currently not enough mouth and nose masks available that can be used as a support to contain the further spread of corona. Procurement on the free market was not possible at short notice.
In order to provide quick relief in this emergency situation, the weekend was used without further ado. Where in the daily operation of HALFAR® the sample construction department produces tailor-made bag solutions for individual customers, the last weekend was used for the good cause.
Since work could only be done in smaller groups and with sufficient distance, volunteer HALFAR® employees made the start on Labour Day. They started the in-house production of mouth and nose masks. Thanks to the active support of the Rotarians of Bielefeld, on Saturday a total of 1,000 mouth and nose masks were completed for the good cause, 500 for RC Epe and 500 for HALFAR® employees.
Together we cut, sewed, assembled and cleaned up for this. Apart from the good feeling of being able to contribute something positive in the current difficult situation, all those involved also took away with them the knowledge of the performance of our colleagues in Eastern Europe, especially in the production of more than 12,000 masks per day, which are currently being manufactured for our customers!
